Young people in Wales are not asking to be protected from change.

Young people like myself are quite literally the change-makers of tomorrow and we can and should foster investment into future generations.
Gaining an education on how we can achieve a sustainable future, choosing future employers that align with our values, and holding decision-makers to account when they waver on environmental commitments are all essential to delivering real, lasting change.
Our nation has a proud industrial history that helped power the world, but that legacy also places a responsibility on us to lead the next chapter of progress.
Young people in Wales are not asking to be protected from change. We are asking to be empowered by it. We want an energy transition that creates skilled jobs, revitalises communities, and ensures that no part of Wales is left behind as we move toward a cleaner, fairer energy system.
"Across our towns, cities, and rural communities, young people are already stepping up.
"From dedicating their studies to renewable engineering and environmental science, to campaigning locally for clean air and warm homes."
Welsh youth are showing ambition, innovation, and determination.
But ambition alone is not enough.
We need clear policy direction, long-term investment, and meaningful opportunities that allow us to stay, work, and thrive in Wales while contributing to the green transition.
An energy transition that isn’t just about megawatts and infrastructure – but about people.
One where young people can see a future for themselves in their communities. Where the transition is fair, inclusive, and shaped with those who will live longest with its consequences.

If young people are excluded from these decisions, there is a risk we lose faith.
If we are included, we unlock a new perspective – putting future generations at the heart of decision-making.
We as young people and as future leaders have the ability to shape the future of our shared planet. But we cannot do it alone.
We need those in power to:
And let us commit to using our voices to make our priorities known, for future generations to recognise the commitment made to the people of Wales, a commitment of progress, fairness and a sustainable future for all.
We want our leaders to engage with young people by speaking with local youth councils, young farmers’ groups, UK Youth Parliament members, and school eco-councils to understand what matters to the young people they are elected to serve.
Led entirely by the members themselves, the Board are young consultants acting as the business’ guide to better understand what matters to young people in Wales with regards to their future skills and careers.
