Nant Mithil Energy Park

What is Nant Mithil Energy Park

Nant Mithil Energy Park is a proposed energy park in Radnor Forest, around 9 km east of Llandrindod Wells. The proposal includes 30 turbines up to 220m in height, generating 198MW of clean, green energy. That’s enough to power the equivalent of between 130,000 and 193,000 homes every year*. The energy park will also help cut between 194,000 and 287,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.

We’re committed to ensuring Nant Mithil Energy Park not only benefits the environment but also the local community. An annual Community Benefit Fund of up to £1.5millon would be available to support groups, places and projects in the community, for the operational life of the park.  Learn more about how we aim to support communities and businesses surrounding the energy park by clicking this link.

Due to the large capacity of clean renewable energy the project could generate (greater than 10 megawatts), it is classified as a Development of National Significance (DNS). We have now submitted our DNS application to Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW), where it will be considered by an Inspector before the final decision is made by Welsh Ministers.
