Moel Chwa Energy Park:
A Brighter Future for Wales

The project

Moel Chwa Energy Park includes up to 12 turbines which will be 200m from base to tip, representing the latest technology in the onshore wind sector.

Our initial proposal would generate up to 79.2MW of cleaner, greener, and more sustainable wind power, enough to power approximately 51,960 homes a year.

The site

Moel Chwa Energy Park spans approximately 963 hectares. To the north of the site is the village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, to the west is Cerrigydrudion and to the south is Llangwm, which is located just the other side of the A5.

The Energy Park would also include associated infrastructure including transformers, foundations, crane pads and laydown/storage areas. On-site access tracks would also be delivered in order to facilitate access across the Energy Park.

Back in 2011, planning permission was also granted for an onshore wind farm comprising 11 turbines and associated infrastructure, further reinforcing the site’s suitability for onshore wind generation.
