1. Clean power and green growth are top priorities for both Welsh and UK Labour Governments, with a realisation that, if we’re going to meet ambitious government targets, we need to move quickly on all fronts.
2. Clean power isn’t just about our energy transition. There’s an excitement about what benefits we can secure for communities and our economy from our transition to clean power; jobs, community investment, and nature restoration.
3. We’ve got a long way to go. Targets for the next decade are a huge challenge and a huge change. Industry and government need to do more to engage the public, make the case, and build trust.
4. Welsh Government is waking up to the scale of the challenge and the obstacles in the way of hitting renewable energy targets. With a potential prize of £47bn investment by 2035, it’s an opportunity we can’t afford to miss.
5. This is personal for the First Minister. Eluned Morgan’s speech to Future Energy Wales conference told the industry that we have an FM that will challenge the industry and government to deliver for Wales.
