Nant Mithil Energy Park near Llandrindod Wells moves to next stage of development
The Nant Mithil Energy Park has reached a new milestone in the development process as the application for the onshore wind park, proposed to be located near Llandrindod Wells, has been accepted by Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW). The proposal has been formally accepted today (19 November 2025) by PEDW after its submission in December 2024.
PEDW has now launched a five-week consultation period, inviting residents, community groups and key stakeholders across Radnor Forest, Powys and wider Wales to share their views before a recommendation is made to Welsh Ministers. This marks a key milestone in the Developments of National Significance (DNS) process for major renewable energy infrastructure in Wales.

Consultation shaped our final proposal
Following public engagement in spring 2024, we made several updates to the proposal in response to community feedback and environmental assessments, including:

Removal of the anemometer mast and turbine 27 to reduce landscape and visual impact

Turbines 28 and 29 moved 50m south following feedback from residents north of the site

Repositioning of turbine 25 to reduce impact on heritage assets

Shorter on-site tracks and reduced cabling corridors to limit habitat disturbance

Revised substation alignment to minimise groundworks

Temporary security cabin added at the site entrance for use during construction only

Overall reduction of the site boundary
