We’re inviting you to take part in the public consultations for Banc Du Energy Park and Rhiwlas Energy Park – two proposed projects that are vital steps toward a greener, more sustainable Wales.
These consultations give you the chance to look at the early details of our plans and let us know what you think before we submit formal planning applications to the Welsh Government.
Both projects are classed as Developments of National Significance (DNS), which means they’ll make a meaningful contribution to the country’s energy goals.
The window to give your feedback on both energy parks is Monday 16 June 2025.
Located approximately 2km northwest of the welcoming village of Llangurig, Banc Du Energy Park represents an exciting step forward in renewable energy for Wales. This development will feature up to 6 advanced wind turbines, capable of generating around 39.6MW of clean, green energy—enough to power over 40,000 homes each year*.
Located to the east of Dolfach, approximately 1.3km southeast of Llangurig, Rhiwlas Energy Park represents an exciting step forward in renewable energy for Wales. This development will feature up to 13 advanced wind turbines, capable of generating up to 85.8MW of clean green energy – enough to power approximately 79,000 homes a year*.
These energy parks aren’t just about producing renewable electricity – they’re about securing Wales’s energy future in a way that respects local communities, protects the environment, and supports economic resilience.
