Powering the Future: Bute Energy Leads Green Careers Week in Wales
We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Green Careers Week 2024 as the National Lead Partner for Wales. This collaboration will support the development of the next generation of green professionals, helping address the growing demand for skilled workers in the renewable energy sector across the country.
With Wales expected to create 25,000 green jobs by 2050, this partnership is a major step toward equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed to build a sustainable future. Bute Energy’s onshore wind energy projects alone are set to generate up to 2,000 jobs, underscoring the vital need for skilled workers to lead Wales’ transition to net zero.
About Green Careers Week
Green Careers Week, running from 4th to 9th November 2024, is a national initiative that raises awareness of green careers and empowers young people to explore opportunities in the green economy. By highlighting diverse career paths in areas like renewable energy, engineering, and environmental management, the initiative helps young people understand the range of roles that contribute to creating a sustainable world.
This year marks the fourth edition of the campaign, with a continued focus on connecting education and employers. The initiative provides valuable resources such as downloadable career guides, employer information, and a virtual careers fair, making it easier for students and educators to access critical information about green career pathways.

Driving Wales' Green Economy Forward

As part of this partnership, Bute Energy will launch its Net Zero Skills Strategy during campaign week. This strategy outlines a comprehensive plan to create education and employment pathways for young people, with a focus on encouraging more students to pursue STEM subjects, providing internships, and collaborating with universities and schools.
