Public consultation closes for Garreg Fawr Energy Park

The non-statutory public consultation for Garreg Fawr Energy Park has now closed, following six weeks of engagement with local communities and stakeholders across Powys. 

The consultation ran from Wednesday 17 September to Wednesday 29 October, giving residents, community representatives and statutory consultees the opportunity to share feedback and local knowledge to help shape proposals for the project. 

Lauren, Project Manager for Garreg Fawr Energy Park, said: 

“Thanks to everyone who took part and contributed to our consultation. We’ve been grateful for the opportunity to get to know the local communities and for the engagement with the process. Now looking forward to digesting everything that we have learnt during the consultation period, and to seeing the outcomes of our ongoing technical and environmental studies.” 

What happens next

• The feedback gathered will help Lauren and the project team refine the design and layout of the proposed energy park, as well as informing ongoing environmental and technical assessments.  

• To continue seeking feedback from local organisations, authorities and communities including BBNPA, MOD/DIO, community councils
