Wind energy developer Bute Energy appoints Interim Managing Director

Bute Energy today [Monday 4 August] announces the appointment of its new Interim Managing Director, Martin Chown. 

Martin will lead Wales’s largest onshore wind developer as it prepares to transition from the planning phase to construction within its portfolio. 

Commenting on his appointment, Martin Chown said:

“This is an exciting year for Bute Energy, and I’m honoured to lead the team as it enters a critical phase of delivery. 

“Since its launch in 2018, the company’s mission to help the Welsh Government deliver its renewable energy generation targets has become a reality. 

“As well as unlocking Wales’s energy potential, supporting local communities and driving economic growth are at the heart of this business – something I’m incredibly passionate about. 

“I look forward to working with the team as we progress our projects and deliver long-term value for Wales.” 

Martin’s appointment as Interim Managing Director follows his role as Chair of the wind developer, and comes after former Managing Director Stuart George transitioned to CEO of its sister company, Green GEN Cymru.
