Upskilling and Training

This area of our strategy focuses on addressing the skills gaps in Wales by actively supporting upskilling and training for those aged 16 and beyond, from college students to those looking to retrain later in life.

At 16, individuals begin to explore career paths, having completed compulsory education. This is a pivotal moment where they can choose to pursue further education, apprenticeships, or enter the workforce.

By engaging at this stage, we ensure that renewable energy is seen as a viable and exciting career choice. This also allows us to dive deeper into the technical skills required for careers in renewables, which is not always possible at younger school ages.

Working with Colleges across Wales

Working with Universities across Wales

By working together with both the education and energy sectors, we prevent the formation of silos and open doors to opportunities that might otherwise be overlooked. This partnership approach helps create a clear, accessible route into the sector for individuals across Wales, ultimately closing the skills gap and fostering a well-prepared green workforce.
