Our suppliers are key partners in delivering Twyn Hywel Energy Park. Building an onshore wind infrastructure requires a wide range of expertise – from turbine design and manufacturing, to civil engineering, electrical works, transport, installation and long-term maintenance.
We’re with experienced organisations who not only bring technical excellence, but also share our commitment to supporting local communities. Together, they will help create jobs, develop skills, and provide opportunities for local people and businesses, ensuring the benefits of the project are felt both during construction and for years to come.
Who will be leading on civil engineering?

Knights Brown, a Bridgend-based company, is delivering the civil engineering infrastructure for Twyn Hywel Energy Park. This includes building access tracks, turbine foundations and other essential works needed to bring the site to life.
With strong experience in UK energy projects, including onshore wind, Knights Brown is also committed to supporting the local economy – targeting around 90% of contract spend with Welsh businesses and creating new apprenticeship opportunities.
Who will be supplying the turbines?
Nordex Group is supplying the wind turbines for Twyn Hywel, bringing proven experience from projects across the UK and Europe. They are committed to delivering meaningful local benefits, including apprenticeships with nearby colleges, local recruitment for technical roles, and community recruitment events. Nordex also supports schools through educational visits to wind energy parks and gives back through volunteer days at local events -helping build skills, create jobs and strengthen community connections.
Who will be leading on electrical engineering?
H&MV Engineering is responsible for delivering the Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP). This includes designing, building and connecting the high‑voltage equipment needed to link the energy park to the National Grid.
H&MV works in high‑voltage engineering for renewable energy and utilities, and has experience delivering similar grid projects across the UK and Ireland. Safety is a key part of how the company works, with clear processes in place and a focus on ensuring that work is carried out carefully and responsibly.
Alongside this, H&MV aims to support the local area by using local and Welsh suppliers where possible, creating job opportunities, and offering training and apprenticeships. The intention is to deliver the project in a way that is not only safe and reliable, but also beneficial to the surrounding community.
Who else helped build Twyn Hywel Energy Park?
We appointed Cardiff-based Terra Firma (Wales) Ltd to lead ground investigations at the Twyn Hywel site in spring 2025. Their local knowledge and expertise played a key role, reflecting our commitment to investing in Wales.
These surveys provided vital insight into soil, geology, hydrology and water management, helping shape a construction approach that is both environmentally responsible and aligned with our planning commitments.
With a strong focus on the local supply chain – all appointed partners have signed up to the Bute Energy Social Value Standard. This means that they have committed to invest jobs, skills, time and resources into communities near the energy park – helping ensure lasting local benefits.
