Beyond the Gala, I’m really looking forward to our Youth Advisory Board event. It’s a chance to hear fresh perspectives from young leaders who are shaping Wales’ renewable energy future – something that gives me real hope and pride.
Can you tell us more about the event we’re hosting?
Catryn:
Absolutely. On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, we’re hosting a lunchtime discussion with our Youth Advisory Board – a group of young professionals driving innovation in the renewable energy sector. They’re not just the future; they’re actively shaping how we think about energy, communities, and sustainability right now. This event is about amplifying their voices and showing how vital their insight is to Wales’ energy transition.
Why are young people so crucial to the energy transition in Wales?
Catryn:
They’re the game changers. Young people bring fresh ideas, new energy (pun intended!), and a real passion for sustainability. The choices we make today on energy will affect their future, so it’s essential we involve them meaningfully. Their perspectives help ensure we’re not just ticking boxes but building a renewable energy industry that’s innovative, inclusive, and future-proof.
