Penybont FC in Powys Upgraded with Business Support

Penybont Football Club in Powys has received a welcome boost thanks to donations from us at Bute Energy and a group of our suppliers, helping the club carry out important refurbishments to its facilities. 

Through our Social Value Standard, ourselves and three other of our suppliers – Savills, David Bell Planning Ltd, Neil McKay Forestry Ltd have each contributed towards the replacement of the club’s 25-year-old decking and upgrades to their changing rooms. LUC supported in the donation’s coordination.  

A spokesperson for Penybont FC said: 

“As a local club we’re incredible proud of the support we continue to receive from local individuals and sponsors year in, year out.   And thanks to this additional funding Bute Energy and its suppliers, we’ve been able to make important and much overdue renovations to our changing rooms, which will make a real difference for everyone who uses them. 

“All the support we receive is important and enables us to continue to grow as a club, secure our future for our men’s, women’s and junior players, and bring the community together.”

Our Social Value Standard requires that 2% of the value of a supplier’s contract value be reinvested into the local communities. For suppliers, this commitment can take the form of donations, volunteering, or sharing expertise — all focused on delivering meaningful, local impact. 

We’ve spent time getting to know the people, places and projects that are important to the residents of Penybont, as we hope to be able to offer long-term support to the area if our plans for  Bryn Gilwern Energy Park, go ahead.

The improvements at Penybont FC represent a small but important contribution towards supporting a much-loved community hub — a club sustained by the dedication of local volunteers, sponsors and supporters over many years.
