Tackling Sustainability with Dragons RFC

Bute Energy is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Dragons RFC, further advancing our commitment to delivering a healthier, wealthier Wales through renewable energy. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to drive positive change, not just through clean energy but by supporting the communities at the heart of Wales.

Our partnership with Dragons RFC will allow us to enhance our engagement with local communities, fostering education on climate change and renewable solutions while supporting critical social initiatives. Together, we aim to build a sustainable future for the people of Wales.

Supporting Community Initiatives and Sustainable Development

As part of this exciting partnership, Bute Energy is thrilled to contribute to several important community projects already championed by Dragons RFC. These include the Fit Fed Fun programme, which provides meals and activities for children in under-resourced areas, and Sporting Memories, a vital network that supports individuals living with dementia and their carers.

Bute Energy’s involvement will help expand these impactful initiatives by integrating climate education into local programming. Our Education Lead, Catrin Leader, will work closely with Dragons RFC to deliver educational sessions, ensuring young people gain essential knowledge about climate change and the transition to renewable energy, empowering the next generation to take action.

Empowering Communities Through Renewable Energy

Our vision at Bute Energy goes beyond generating clean energy – we believe in reinvesting in the communities we serve. This partnership with Dragons RFC is an example of how we intend to do that, aligning with our wider goals for social and economic development through renewable energy projects.

The Twyn Hywel Energy Park, one of Bute Energy’s major renewable energy developments, recently received planning permission from the Welsh Government. Once operational, the energy park will displace approximately 5.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually – the equivalent of taking all cars off the road in Caerphilly County Borough Council. The park will not only deliver clean energy but also create new jobs and support local services, ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy are felt by the entire community.

Through our Community Benefit Fund, supported by Twyn Hywel and other energy parks in our portfolio, Bute Energy will provide grant funding for new and existing community programmes. This fund will empower local communities to thrive by offering long-term support for valuable initiatives, such as those led by Dragons RFC, which positively impact the lives of local residents.

Building a Sustainable Future for Wales
