The UK Government’s new Industrial Strategy, published today [23 June], recognises onshore wind as a “frontier clean energy industry.” That’s a huge endorsement of our sector — and it shows that clean energy is central to the UK’s industrial future.
With a target to double clean energy investment to £30 billion annually by 2035, the clean power mission is not just an environmental commitment – it’s a powerful industrial opportunity. And it’s one we’re already seizing.
Our £3 billion programme of energy parks in Wales will support up to 2,000 skilled jobs and deliver up to £20 million annually to local communities through grant funding pots. We’re determined to ensure this investment benefits the people and businesses closest to our projects – supporting local supply chains, jobs and skills.
Onshore wind is the fastest and most cost-effective route to a clean power system by 2030. And when it’s backed by British business, it doesn’t just power homes – it powers a resilient, green economy.
